Paddy, pure genius in the way he made and executed his goal. I said to my Bhoy.....those that left early will be gutted. For me Paddy is, and always will be an impact player; I just dont see him ever being effective over a 90min period, Well done today son.

He has never been able to get fit enough to play full games, but he can do things like he did today coming off the bench.

goalie looked decent
cha - average, often out of position dan - lets the ball bounce too much but at least wins some important headers loovens - solid iza - my motm
forrest - good in spells but drifts out the game sometimes brown - average ledley - decent, quietly goes about his business, keeps possession well stokes - dissapointed he was played as a winger, clearly not his position
maloney - took his goal very well, grat at times, awful at others - looked unfit (get the impression this is why stokes switched with him) and stopped some moves leading to anything by taking half an hour to get back onside. murphy - good run for the first, won everything in the air. did less in 2nd half
paddy - awesome goal sammy - tried bu confidence gone and too greedy kayal - some great raking passes, should be ahead of brown imo

We won't have to remember the date because the red tops won't let us forget we got 2 dodgy decisions today, of course none will tell about the decisions given offside wrongly, but hey this is the most bigoted wee country in the world.

WHY????? was stokes playing out of position today ... we need a goalscorer not another player getting played out of position, result was all important today after the Huns last minute shot today...i would like to see big Dan being more aggressive in defense esp regarding attacking the ball, few times today let the first bounce deceive him...brown should NOT be in the starting 11 IMHO,Juarez and kayal should be there before him, again just my honest opinion lads..

Wasn't the best perfomance today but still strolled to a 3-0 win.
I don't think anybody had a great game and a few made basic mistakes, but we weren't at our best and won which is a big improvement from last season.
really enjoyed the 2nd half we looked quite comfortable and should have been more than 3. Easily.

Apparently Juarez was being rested because of the amount of travelling he did on international duty. Kayal was brought on during the second half when we needed things sorted out. I thik it says a lot about Neil that he will take his captain off if he needs to.

I think we missed the energy of Juarez and Kayal in the middle, but it's good to know we can easily beat a team who has caused us problems in the past without them.
Long may that continue.

When Stokes was put out to the right it allowed Maloney and Forrest more space in the middle, i thought it was a stroke of genius doing that after 25 mins, it totally changed the flow of the game.It was eachy peachy up until then and when Maloney moved into the middle we looked superb.

Yeah, Pretty average first 25 mins. Good swap with forrest moving out on the left and got the goal at a good time.
Hearts had some chances, but still think we would have won with the amount of chances we had.

so glad we pumped this mob, paddy's goal was sheer class. Can't wait to see the hun media's spin on our "dodgy"goals while totally ignoring the fact we had two goals chalked off and how the feck did black get away without a booking at least .

Who knows with that one, he seemed to just wander about kicking Celtic players. He must have some photo's of Gollum up to something.

And Mr Greetin Face is even more miserable, now he's reporting the ref! I used to play fitba with Mr Collum when we were in school. Never really liked him that much, although my brother was a good mate of his for a long time. he actually helped him out by running the line at Cliftonhill(dont think it was a league game). my brother got dogs abuse that day because hes about 18 stone.(Not a pretty site)

think lenny has too much time for maloney. changed the formation for him, kept on the whole game, missed yet another sitter (in fact i dont think he even swung at it). he does some good creative things at times but the team shouldnt be organised around him

The build up to the match was all about Anthony Stokes and Daryl Murphy but it was another Irishman, the magical Paddy McCourt that sent the Celtic fans home with something to talk about. Other players can huff and puff for 90 minutes, demonstrate that they have a good engine and all the rest but for the crowd of almost 50,000 at Celtic Park today 13 minutes of magic from the Derry Pele were priceless. As soon as he came onto the park McCourt looked a cut above the rest of the players on show and capped his cameo with a brilliant injury time goal to mark his first goal at Celtic Park. True he did misplace one ball that went out for a throw-in but other than that every little thing he did was magic as the fans, including Rod Stewart and Billy Connolly, hung on his every touch. Even in defence the former Derry City man was sublime. Tracking back with a Hearts defender bearing down he ignored the obvious back-pass for Fraser Foster to hoof clear to deliver a brilliant 40 yard cross field ball to Cha Du Ri without even having to look up. In golf terms it was the 5-iron that we all dream of striking that is perfectly measured, bumping up at the front of the green and rolling perfectly to single-putt range. Just before his goal McCourt had sent through a perfectly weighted ball to Georgios Samaras whose unconvincing side footed effort was easily held by goalkeeper Marian Kello. As the clock struck 90 McCourt created a chance out of nothing and it can only be a matter of time before it features on The Paddy McCourt Story dvd. Like so many goals that he scored for the reserves in the distant days of Celtic TV this was another classic amongst classics. Picking up a nothing pass from Samaras on the left flank and 40 yards from goal the Celtic substitute edged forward at his own pace before a flick of his right foot took Darren Barr out of the equation. Sensing danger Ismael Bouzid hesitated as McCourt approached him at the edge of the box with another deft touching leaving only Kello between yer man and his first home goal. The Hearts keeper panicked, went to ground and with the cutest of touches McCourt effortlessly lifted the ball up and over Kello to drop into the net. There will be plenty of controversy over Celtic’s first half goals which were both borderline offside decisions. Having watched them again a few times on Channel 67 it’s impossible to call either goal. From the angle of the camera and that of the assistant referee both decisions were borderline. Overall there were decisions that went for and against Celtic. At neither goal was there a clear offside, the assistant gets a snapshot if he’s lucky to make a decision- unless he’s 100% sure that a player is offside the flag stays down. If the assistant had flagged offside against either of the Celtic goals he could well have kept his flag down at some of the other occasions. With full points and four clean sheets to show for their efforts in the SPL it’s been an impressive start to the domestic season for Neil Lennon’s side. There are plenty of rough edges and areas to work on but with a reliable goalkeeper, Forster, a commanding central defender, Daniel Majstorovic and a promising left-back in Emilio Izzaguirre TEAM LENNON is starting to come together and take shape. For the first time this season Lennon will have a full week of training with his squad at Lennoxtown. A Europa League tie would have been preferred but another clean sheet and convincing win next Sunday at Kilmarnock will go some way towards compensating for that horrible night in Utrecht....... videocelts.com/2010/09/blogs/paddy-mccourt-genius-at-work

Another good win.Although not a classic I came out of the game feeling I'd been entertained and having put up with dross for a few seasons this is long overdue. The only worry is we should be scoring more goals. For years we had a midfield who couldn't score, but now that our midfielders score our strikers don't.How we played a striker ,Stokes,on the left wing in the second half when we have the most skillful left winger in Britain, paddy mcCourt, sitting on the bench.Having said that I think paddy's standards are slipping ,beating only 2 players to score instead of the usual 5 or 6.

lenny should definitely get credit, its just he has that blind spot for maloney which may hinder us in tougher games Having a blind spot for a guy on form is no bad thing, is his decisions making us any weaker?, Celtic are looking good now and Celtic fans will always look for a fall guy, It seems that Brown, loovens and Samaras are flavour of the day, these 3 guys did there best today but a lot of fans will always boo even if they make one mistake!!!..i go to a game and cheer every move as it comes, i dont wait for Scott Brown to make a mistake so that i can boo him...lets all just support celtic and enjoy the experience........after all shaun maloney missed a sitter and one minute later he had the cheers of paradise to listen to.

Aye, we are a bit short at times. I was raging at wee Shaun missing that chance, then the next minute texting my cousin at the game praising him for making up for it. We're only gonna get better and i'm excited about the team.
Just listened to JJ on the BBC.... What a greetin faced tosspot. Show the guy heaven and he wouldn't be happy unless he got a Season ticket. Hate that man, he struggles to speak from greetin, knob

lenny should definitely get credit, its just he has that blind spot for maloney which may hinder us in tougher games every match report ive seen so far has either maloney or izaguirre as man of the match is it just you that thinks he never played well from what i seen of the crap stream shaun missed 1 great chance he was too slow to react and the defender nicked it off his toe apart from that he had a right good game again

Post by singtim on Sept 12, 2010 11:01:50 GMT
yeah well theres things you cant see on a 'crap stream'
he is undoubtedly talented and great on the ball but when a move breaks down he's the only one not doing any work - everyone around me was going mental at how long he was taking to get back onside. on at least 2 occassions it led to other players being ruled offside.
i never said he was poor i just think changing the formation to suit him may not be the best way forward - it totally numbed stokes and would probably do the same to hooper

yeah well theres things you cant see on a 'crap stream' like i said every match report i read had either shaun or izaguirre as man of the match and the people that write those reports dont do so on the evidence of a crappy stream
