I've been to too many defeats in the League Cup....and trying to dismiss them as it the "Wee Diddy Cup"....but to be honest, it feels like a boot in the baws EVERY time....I also revel in it when THEY get put out.... ....so yes, it matters to me....it matters a lot.... too rite m8 , raith rovers ffs , this attitude amongst some fans pisses me rite off , i want to win every game , even the friendlies , if the fans dont realy care , then maybe the players get the same thoughts , positive attitude goes a long way , same goes for the opposite I don't think any of the "some fans" of which you speak have said they don't want to win it, or win any game we play in. Some people simply don't take it very seriously. That clearly includes a lot of Celtic managers, given how we have performed in it. It is seen as an opportunity to rest players, or give fringe players a chance in a competitive match. Some Celtic Managers ... tch!!

I want us to win the League Cup, otherwise we cannae win the Treble. Ditto. Exact same feeling from me. I want us to win everything this year to make up for our European Farce!

The League Cup may be the third most important major trophy in Scotland but at the end of the day it is a major trophy. We took it so seriously in 1957 that we're still singing about the final today. Jock Stein never viewed it as anything other than a proper first team fixture and rated it just as important as any league and Scottish Cup game and it's nonsense to suggest that we lost so many LC finals during the Stein years because we didn't take the competition seriously. We took it seriously enough in 1994 when we were gubbed at Ibrox by Raith Rovers. Stumbling out of the ground dazed and confused with tears in the eyes of so many of us, you bet we fans took it seriously that day. We took it seriously in 1997 when, again at Ibrox, we gubbed Dundee Utd to lift the trophy. A great day, a great celebration and the catalyst to our title win later that season after a decade in the shadows of the hun. More recently in 2008/09 we beat the huns in a major cup final for the first time in twenty years - it was 'only' the League Cup but we took that game pretty seriously too. Let's give it our all and go for it. If we happen to get knocked out at any stage then we'll all agree that it's a wee diddy cup and not worth winning anyway.

It's an important Cup as far as I am concerned. They all are if we are about winning. It is also important to keep the morale, spirits, and esprit de corps of the team up, as we seek to dislodge our arch rivals Rangers this year.

We should aim to win everything we go in for, no excuses.

Judging by the FT score I'd say that Celtic took this game seriously as well.

Any word on who we've drawn in the Quarter Finals? Draw was at 2.30 today....
Fingers crossed for The Huns at Celtic Park. A wee mid week, night time Old Firm game at home would go down a treat! ;D
