Never mind lenny not knowing his centre defensive duo do the fans...
for me i,m stumpted tbh....they all have flaws esp loovens, rogne is just injury ridden, hooiefelt is well average, big dan also has his errors..
tbh we have the worst group of defenders in the past 10 years...

As i posted on another thread regarding a fans favorite,i cant see ANY of the current squad being looked upon as a fans favourite.... lets just hope for all our sake,s we can win the league ... so far the only difference i can see between the two teams is the Huns have a recognized goalscorer in Kenny misser.... hope hooper will be back soon, playing with murphy...

I still think Hooiveld should be given a chance. Maybe start him with Big Dan midweek. He was poor against Utrect but the whole team was shocking that night. Lennon seems to prefer Loovens though and I'd say he'll stick with him. Not being able to decide on a settled CB pairing was one of Mowbray's mistakes that Lennon won't want to repeat.

Terry I have to disagree mate. Utrecht are, at best, a mid table team in Holland and were compared to Dundee United or Hibs. If they can open up Celtic the way they did, and rip the piss out of Hooiveld, as they did, he should never get near a jersey again. To me he is all talk but cannot do it when it matters. And it matters every time Celtic go on the park.

Hooiveld as always looked dodgy anytime I've seen him. As for Rogne? For a boy his age he seems to be injured a hell of a lot. Is there a problem with him or the medical staff?

i think mcmanus would have better with big dan than any others we have just now, they are all pish, loovens rouge, and hoofy, lennon should seriously think about shittu as time is getting ahead of us and this needs sorted quickly, he may not be the answer no one knows, but the options we have are poor to say the least. this could be our downfall position that may cost us the league. if we hang on in there untill january it would be a blessing.

I have been banging on about this for months, along with many other fans,I might add.We shot ourselves in the foot by not signing another quality CH.To my mind, this was total negligence, wether Lennies or the boards, makes no difference. We are going into this must win campaign, with, apart from Danny, the failures of last season,in our CH positions.Hoiveld, was released by Livingston FFS,I know he was younger, but Livvy, good god.Rogne,in the very brief time we have seen him, looks good, but how can we really tell, until he plays regularly. As for Loovens, well,if Lenny thinks he is worth a 1st team place, that is his opinion, but does anybody else know another fan who agrees. We cant all be wrong, can we?.In my opinion, playing this guy is the biggest danger to us winning this league.Miller must be licking his lips at the thought of playing against him.He will let us down as he has done in the past. His stupidity could have cost us dearly at Kilmarnock.6"4,15 stone, and gets shoved about like a kid,eg,Miller at Mordor last year.Keep saying,I pray to god I am wrong, and he proves me so,I hate denigrating anyone who wears the hoops, but this season is just too important for us to be going with Hoiveld and Loovens.

I thought Jos Hooiveld's absence was down to yet another injury. How naive of me lol!

Here I go again. Jay DeMerit is still unsigned. The Vancouver Whitecaps are trying to sign him. I would think that he would prefer Scotland to an expansion franchise in the MLS.
DeMerit and big Dan would be very physical together

If we could keep Rogne fit then the chances are good he would probably be starting every week.
I haven't seen enough of Jos to write him off entirely but the early signs have not been encouraging.
Loovens has had a pretty poor start to the season. He is sometimes capable of putting in great performances. Last season in the 1-1 game v Rangers, Loovens was immense. The problem is he is not reliable.
Big Dan is a class player imo. He has strolled through the majority of the games he has played for us.
Another option for us at centre back could be Charlie Mulgrew. He played there for Aberdeen and he did a decent enough job.
Does anyone know what happened with the Shittu deal? He would walk into our first team.

I'd like to see Hooiveld starting rather than Big Glenda. But Rogne deserves a shot up until January when we can buy a new CB

I see this thread started yesterday, the day after we lost our first and only SPL goal of the season ffs, OK we are not watertight Italian style, but credit where it's due, who'd have thought we'd have only 1 goal in our against column after 5 games, for what it's worth IMO the first defender out the door should be Glenda, whilst the rest have a chance to partner big Dan. No matter what the Scottish red tops will have us believe, we are not any worse than aul man Weir and Buggerer.

I thought Jos was injured as well, just like other threads , I think Loovens is a shocker and I am surprised at Lenny playing this guy after so many poor games. This guy could come back to haunt Lenny. I am really worried if he plays him against the huns.

DeMerit and big Dan would be very physical together send lenny an e-mail m8 , id be quite happy signing a yank , they have a great attitude and winners mentality , i know we have only conceded 1 goal in the league but we dont realy solid , i like the new lb he looks a real find , but we are still very weak imo
