Murdo is saying that Lenny should play his strongest side against ICT, I totally agree with him, had it not been Lenny's first season I would have said play the youngsters, but imagine the headlines if he did and we got beat. We are on a good run and we need to keep it going. Murdos also said Lenny should be aiming for the treble, can't argue with that, it would cement his manegerial position. Hail Hail

I disagree, he could give the likes of Ki, Mulgrew, Sammy and Hooper a run out and still be fairly comfortable.
To not play our strongest team in the past meant we were putting out a substantially weaker one. That isn't the case this season with the squad we have.

He can still play a strong side and change up the squad slightly.

I'm all for playing the fringe players (not sub standard by any means), but if it keeps the squad happier then that's the way I'd go. As another poster said, playing the likes of Ki, Mulgrew et al doesn't mean we aren't taking it seriously.

In theory I like the idea of playing fringe and/or youth players in this competition. But this year I think it's important that we win every cup match we play. The knives will be out for Lennon if he trots out a weaker side and loses on Wednesday.

I think ,likeMurdo, we should keep the changes to a minimum ,this team are just getting to know each other and they need games together . See how a team of very limited ability, RANGERS , are performing very well and even contrived to get a very creditable result against the mighty MUFC.

Go for it,send wattie away with hee haw.Good chance to play,Suarez,Ki,Mulgrew, hopefully Hooper,Stokes,Rogne.Thought Suarez looked like he needed games in the team in midfield on Sunday. Please get Rogne fit,we are dicing with death with Loovens.Hate to denigrate any Celtic player, but he is a real nightmare.Too many bad lapses, usually after doing something good.

Its Misun on loan at Dundee, Rogne was on the bench yesterday mate.
Would play as strong as team as possible. These guys need game time together to keep the confidence up and the gelling to continue. Alas we dont have europe to save anyone for.

I'm ambivalent about this. One bit of me doesn't really care about the tournament. so give fringe players a chance. The other bit says use it as a further opportunity for the first team to play together and keep building as a team.
I think the latter is the more important as it will help us in the SPL. So I would go with sending out the strongest team possible.

lennon will be shittin himself, if he plays a weaker team and looses he will be crucified, if he plays his strongest and the likes of stokes or big dan get injured he will be asked why did he start them in league cup ffs, he is on a no win situation, even if we win

I think Brown could do with a rest. Like Stokes and Murphy playing as the strikers up front. Let them play as much as they can; we might just have another McDonald / Venegoor 53 goal combo

Spot on Chrisbhoy, he just cannot win. As far as I'm concerned it is all about getting a settled team, in particular the midfield and defence, I feel our forwards will be OK banging in the goals this season, but make no mistake if Lenny makes 4/5 changes and we get beat the Press will have a field day, and our own fans will be calling for his head. Lenny has to put a mark on this season, and fielding his strongest 11 in all competitions is the only way to do that. Hail Hail

Mighty MUFC my arse, a reserve XI no matter what Sir Furious says. The huns aren't playing "very well" at all, after watching any of their games it seems the opposition are a shambles IMO, so there's feck all to fear in next months Glasgow derby (apart from Nosurname parking the bus again).
