Inter and Juve seek Celtic's Brown Thursday 16 September, 2010 It’s reported that both Juventus and Inter are battling for the signature of Celtic captain Scott Brown. The Scotsman is the heart of the Hoops midfield following his transfer from Hibernian, but his contract expires at the end of the season. Brown has so far resisted offers to extend his deal until June 2015 and is intrigued by talk of Serie A interest. According to the Italian media, Brown is a target for both Juventus boss Gigi Del Neri and Inter Coach Rafa Benitez. The two clubs are also said to be duelling over Tottenham wide man Gareth Bale. www.football-italia.net/sep16q.html

I read this somewhere else Davie and his contract, apparently runs out in the summer of 2012. I would say if they offer us decent money for him it is a no brainer for me.

Does anyone really believe that managers actually tell those things to a reporter?

I'm sure it's a 4 year deal with a one year option. Better off without him punt him for whatever we can get in January.

I'm sure it's a 4 year deal with a one year option. Better off without him punt him for whatever we can get in January. Five years according to the official site: www.celticfc.net/news/stories/news_160507114940.aspxScott Brown signs for Celticby Paul Cuddihy CELTIC Football Club is delighted today to announce the signing of Scott Brown from Hibernian FC in the biggest ever transfer between two Scottish clubs. Scott (21) has signed a five-year contract with Celtic and will team up with the Scottish Champions when the transfer window opens. Celtic Manager Gordon Strachan said: "We are delighted to have signed Scott and are excited about him joining us next season. "He has all the attributes to be a great Celtic player and I am sure he will enjoy teaming up with the other players at the Club as we try to bring more success to our supporters. I would also like to thank the Celtic Board for their support in bringing Scott to Celtic." Scott Brown said: "Everyone knows Celtic is one of the biggest names in football and the opportunity to join a Club of Celtic’s stature was one I had to take. "Celtic has enjoyed a great season, lifting the SPL Championship and making great progress in Europe. The Club has a magnificent support and I will be doing all I can to make sure I play my part in delivering more and more success to these fans. "I would also like to thank Hibernian FC and the Hibs fans for all they have done for me. I have enjoyed my time immensely playing for Hibernian for a number of years and have nothing but praise for the Club and its staff and supporters. I wish everyone involved with Hibernian, the very best for the future." Celtic Chief Executive, Peter Lawwell added: "We are delighted to secure the signing of Scott, one of the most talented players in the country. "There was considerable interest in Scott from a number of other clubs across Britain and clearly it is fantastic news for the Club and our supporters that we have signed him. "Scott did have more lucrative offers elsewhere, but we are clearly very pleased that he has chosen to join Celtic. The Celtic Board is delighted to support Gordon and his plans for the future."

Still pishing my self over the last bit of this lol
Tottenham Hotspur manager faces competition for the signature of Celtic midfielder Scott Brown with Inter Milan and Juventus monitoring the Scottish international according to reports in this mornings Italian media.
Brown, 25, has been tracked by Harry Redknapp previously however the Spurs manager has now turned his attention to signing Brown after West Ham midfielder Scott Parker signed a new long term deal at Upton Park.
However while Redknapp has registered his interest European champions Inter Milan and Serie A giants Juventus are now monitoring the tenacious midfielder following Brown’s consistent beginning of season form according to Italian reports.
Brown signed for Celtic in 2007 from Hibernian in a £4.5 million deal and has been a revelation since moving to Celtic Park

I wouldn't sell him, our players need protected and Brown will do just that.If a crazy offer comes in then i would sell him, we need a tough guy in the middle without him we would be a soft touch, he's not scared to put the boot in.

Personally I like Scott Brown. I suspect that if he wasn't captain of the team then he wouldn't be held to the standard that he is. To be fair I'm not sure that I'd have picked him for captain. "Fire in the belly but ice in the brain." is a quote that I remember being used to describe an important attribute of a team captain. Scott's past performances haven't exactly matched that description but I'm hopeful that this season will be a different story with Lennon at the helm.
I think Lenny rates him and intends to keep him. Maybe this season will be the year that we see the Scott Brown that we all know is hiding inside that jersey. I am hoping that we do.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has played down speculation over the future of captain Scott Brown. Brown's future has been subject to conjecture in recent weeks with clubs in Italy believed to be keen on securing his services. Inter Milan and Juventus are two of the sides said to be keeping an eye on the 25-year-old midfielder, who has become a mainstay of the Hoops side as skipper. But Lennon says any talk over his player's future is simply rumour at this stage - although he hastened to add that the Scottish international could ply his trade in Serie A. He said: "I think he is a very good player. I think it is just speculation at the minute but it wouldn't surprise me. "I think he could play there, yes. A lot of people don't, but I do. "He's been a very consistent performer for me and I probably wouldn't be in this position if it wasn't for the likes of Scott Brown." Lennon is also keen to keep hold of striker Georgios Samaras, with the 39-year-old revealing he would speak to the Greek player's agent over a new contract next month. Reports had circulated suggesting youngster James Forrest had been offered new terms, however Lennon refuted such claims. Asked about the possibility of the 19-year-old penning a deal, Lennon added: "No. "He signed a contract recently, last year or the year before and he has two or three years left on his contract but if he keeps progressing the way he is doing we will have a look at it." www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_6383263,00.html?

Perhaps the media are trying to unsettle him....hold that, he has never been anything other than unsettled in body, spirit and positioning. Sorry Broony but you have been a big let down for me. I am not one to ridicule players but, despite wanting him to succeed, I have seen scant indicators of that happening. While I have every confidence in Lenny I would have to say that even he would have noticed the significant change in our fotunes and play when Kayal replaced Broony on Saturday.

Kayal, Juarez and Ledley are all (IMO) ahead of Brown in the CM pecking order. More than £2m and I'd be happy to let him go.
