He has looked up for it this season. I wish him well. As to the contract those things always work themselves out.

Samaras is his own worse enemy,i think we agree he can do us a turn if he concentrates more and be more leathal maybe Lenny is giving him a chance and trying to turn him round, hes too busy high fiving and patting his team mates on the erse and trying to be an all round good guy

There's a train of thought that players trying to win new contracts try their hearts out to get one, then when it arrives they return to their old ways, I'm not too happy that he's getting a new contract unless it is to ensure we get a return from a transfer in January or next summer, he wastes far far too many chances for it to be down to bad luck.

Very dangerous player when he feels like it. He's being given a contract as teams are gonna want him and we shouldn't be letting him go for nothing.
Sign him up, play him and take a look, if no progress punt him on. He's worth a couple of Million and no way should we be missing out on that.
Good move Celtic in my eyes. He was our best player on the park by miles against Man U, took the piss out of them. No way should we be parting with him for nowt

there's no doubting there a fairly decent player in sammi..its just a matter of trying to coax it out of him on a regular basis...he could be a star if put more effort into his game

Dont think effort is one of Sammi"s weaker traits. He looks languid but isnt.Great talent on his day, look at goals,v,Kilmarnock, twice,Spurs, etc, good world cup.You either love him or loathe him,no maybes, know he doesnt score nearly enough of the chances he has,if he did,he would be worth £7-8 mil,but thats him.He is playing well at the moment,a new contract would mean he has good sell on value, where is the downside.Good buisness by Neil.

Oh dear God no.
Sorry but I've lost patience with him and has been said already, a lot of players try extra harder when trying to win a contract then when they get it they go back to their old ways.
Sammy may be trying a bit harder but he's still missing lots of chances and slack with passes.
Fed up waiting for him to come onto a game and just want to see him gone.

We're keeping him as cheap back-up. Costs nothing and will presumably be on the same wages. He's looking like fourth choice and he's OK to have if that's where he is in the pecking order. He's actually not bad as a fourth choice striker. Useless if you wanted him for a first 11.

I am not his biggest fan , I think he slows down play an awful lot. He needs a bit of self belief and to stop thinking as much.
Dont laugh at this one but he really needs to wear a head band. that mop of his must get in the road.

Unless it is for a year as striker insurance, it makes no sense.

Not for me, he just runs the way he is facing and thats usually away from goal.
He can't play with his head up. All good players can play with their head up looking for opportunity
