good or bad good am glad folk can see the match if they cant afford to go bad folk might stop going on our bus and watch it with a few pints the bars are using a loophole in the law and getting the sat system fitted that has around 5,000 channels and shows every celtic home game live . Am a draymen and at least 4 pubs i have been delivering to in the last fortnight have had or are getting it installed. sky was or is charging them a fortune for the service plus the new system which is cheaper shows all celtic or rangers home games live .I dont blame the publicans times are tough in the pub game i know i work in it the loophole is you cant advertise you have it.But word of mouth sorts that out. My pub got it a few weeks ago and when i got back from match yesterday a few of the lads THAT USED TO GO ON OUR BUS but gave up there season books said it was great they watched the match on setanta australia. be very intresting to see how this affects the crowds in the depths of winter. with us trying to run a supporters bus views please

People will either go or not. Whether it is on in a pub or not. It might make Celtic look at the admission prices and bring them down and make it affordable to the working man again. Can't be a bad thing.

How can Sky sell all of the Celtic and Rangers games if it hasn't actually bought the rights to show those games in the UK from the SFA. Is this actually a legal system, I would have thought it breached copyright. It's also an issue for the other clubs, as it will potentially shrink their already small crowds.

This is the thin end of the wedge, it won't be too long till we can all access games on good quality streams on PC, I know they can be accessed at the moment but when the stream quality improves the clubs and Sky will have to rethink their pricing.

The fact that they game is broadcast abroad does not change copyright law in the UK. Either Sky have come to an agreement with the SFA, or it is not actually Sky who are doing this. If the dish is moving to pick up the signal that suggests it's another system and not Sky supplying it. A lot of people just say Sky when they mean satellite broadcasting.

They can't just broadcast it and say that it's coming from somewhere else so we can do what we want. You're right gerry. This isn't a new thing they've been doing it for years using motorised dishes. Loads of pubs got into bother for it a couple of years back, showing the games on Polsat, etc, because it was illegal to show them here. Pretty sure Walter Smith owned or part-owned one of those pubs that got done. And if it's now legal then why on earth wouldn't they be allowed to advertise it? That's just mental, you're running a perfectly legal business showing perfectly legal programmes in your pub and you can't advertise it? Sorry, I'm not buying that.
