Browsing through the Celtic Wiki (formerly known as the KDS Wiki) and came across a page with details of the 43 different countries that have produced Celtic players. Most, but not all, of the foreign signings have been in the last 15-16 years and I thought back to the seventies when we thought Icelandic legend Johannes 'Shuggie' Edvaldsson was an exotic signing. Here's a list of the countries that spawned Celts: So far an estimated 43 different nationalities (by birthplace) have played for Celtic (depending on what you count as a country, or whether you accept those who played for several national teams). The list below excludes Scottish players as there are too many, and also includes some who never made a first team performance. It is also incomplete so please do add anyone you spot as missing - most are Irish or English. The countries are Albania, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Greece, Guinea, Honduras, Iceland, India, Ireland (Northern), Ireland (Republic), Israel, Italy, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, Japan, Latvia, Malaysia, Mexico, Mozambique, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Senegal, Slovakia, Somalia, South Korea, Spain, Suriname, Sweden, Switzerland, USA, Venezuela, Wales. The full list of players is here: www.thecelticwiki.com/page/Nationalities+of+Celtic+Players
