4 days before the international friendly of South Korea against Iran, Ki Sung Yong said he wants to leave Celtic. "I don't need to stay at Celtic as long as I can't get a first team place. The relationship with Neil Lennon isn't that good since the last season. He always said that I'm not good at defence, I think he don't want to see my strengths. He always stresses my weaknesses. It feels like I will not be in the first team forever" "Last summer, I heard Senol Gunes wanted to bring me to Trabzonspor but Celtic denied the offer. So I thought 'I will be in the first team for the next season' but it wasn't true. I should find out another team for the winter transfer window" from Paju, Korea Rep. People want to run before they can walk. players have to bide their times and fight for a place..if he wants to leave thats up to him, he has signed a contract and stick by it.prove he's good enough by trying harder in training and playing better when called upon.

If he wants away I would let him go.
I really don't see him a as a contender for a place in our midfield. Not with the squad we have now.

He'll be a great player but it's beginning to look as if it'll be somewhere other than Scotland.
Didn't look too happy after he scored against St Mirren the other week, probably knew that no matter how well he done he'd be straight back on the bench the very next match.

I don't really see how he thinks he can guarantee first team football with the squad we have now, and particularly in the midfield.

I think he WILL be a good player, but, if that's his attitude, so be it....he can ply his trade elsewhere....I want a player who will fight for his place....

I feel he is just not suited to Scottish football. He doesn't perform consistently when given the chance.

Would be better off in Europe where the game is not so fast and physical, will never be a regular at Celtic

Again we shouldn't believe what we read in the papers. Journalists no matter which country they come from will make a big headline out of an innocent comment. Then add in the translation crap etc. I can't see a player slagging off the manager like that when he's trying to get into the 1st team. As for calling him a wee dik - I despair at times.

If he wants to go in January, let him go. He doesn't look happy anyway. Unless we have injuries I would not give him a place on the bench, give it to somebody who wants to fight for a place.

I've been massively disapointed with him since he signed. He came with such a big reputation (Asian Steven Gerard) if i remember correctly.
He had a decent World Cup apparently, but he just doesn't seem able to adapt to our game. I was actually hoping we would send him down south to the Championship on loan to try and toughen him up a bit.

Cant believe all the negatives on here. The boy is a great talent. How long did it take Petrov to bloom FFS.Too quick to jump on any bandwagon some people. One minute we are slagging the huns for having hammer throwers, next saying the boy is too much of a footballer for the SPL.Which do you want? And since when did we all start to believe what the press write,or what is posted on Twitter.Nobody believed the Paddy one on Twitter,so why is this one different. Can any one honestly believe the boy would say this?Afew for me would be well ahead of this boy to be punted. How many chances has he had?His goal against St Mirren was sensational, nobody has had a chance to see what the boy has in his locker yet,but ,the cries to get rid of him,and calling him "a dik" are disgraceful.I really despair of my fellow hoops sometimes.

I feel he is just not suited to Scottish football. He doesn't perform consistently when given the chance. Kinda hard to perform consistently when you've only had about 5 starts in 8 months and there's weeks, sometimes months, between each one.

I like Ki. Maybe he isn't cut out for the rough and tumble of the SPL but there's no denying he has quality.
Will be sad to see him go without really being given a chance, kinda like what happened with Rasmussen.
It feels like Lennon is trying to clense the squad of anything realting to Tony Mowbray.
Fortune is sold by Samaras survives!?

he hasn't even been given a decent run in the team to make a solid judgement on him as a player.. i also think he needs to knuckle down and concetrate on his game before he starts making calls like he's calling

I agree with Tictoc, he has hardly had a chance to show what he can do, we seem to want players to settle instantly, some will some won't, but I think a big problem we have in the modern game is that not many players want to be squad players anymore, unless it's at bigger clubs where they can sit in a squad with a high double figure wages. I think Ki has the potential to be a fantastic player, a horse a horse my Ki Sung for a horse. Hail Hail
