saw that on twitter that the celtic fans were singing unsavoury songs for a football ground, diff in your own home or wsomewhere where its acceptable Don't condone it but the singing of republican songs is not unusual in Coatbridge.

Smoke bombs and flares? If you can't respect someone else's ground then don't go.. They are wasting their talents. Serie A is where they need to be on a weekend or maybe the Argentinian or Brazilian premier leagues

They'll roll out the excuse that it wasn't them and the reports seem to back that up, as the Green Brigade aren't kids.
However, these are the people that attach themselves to the group and they need to do a better job of self policing if they don't want associated with this kind of trouble.

I've been told the head steward used to be in charge at Hamilton and got fired for the amount of complaints against him. The kids they threw out were 13-14 years olds and they were using excessive force to do it, some of them were thrown down the stairs, and my friend went to the head steward and complained. The guy denied it and my friend tod him he had it all on film and the guy faked an asthma attack and disappeared as his cronies flung my friend out as well, even though he had done nothing. Some of those thrown out had absolutely nothing to do with it all and didn't even know why they were being ejected. I'm just hoping he has enough of it on film to send to celtic/Albion and this guy gets sacked(again) and that the BJK catcalls were from huns in the Rovers end and not from their fans, otherwise i'd cancel this friendly. This guy as i said in my lost post caused all the friction before the turnstiles had even opened.

I think I've told you chaps before, a few of my mates and I sponsor two players at the Rovers. If you look in the programme on the sponsors page we are Pat's Pals. This really is a big game for them every year, it goes a long way to keep the club going throughout the season. It really is that important to the club. Gravesen played in it a few seasons ago, he must have been in shell shock. this guy pat, jim, its not the chairman pat rollink is it?met him a couple of times at the vegas convention, the guy is a brilliant stand up..

Sorry but this lot are idiots and bringing the good name of Celtic down Here here. Jock Stein Memorial Trophy. These bams should read up on what he thought about IRA chanting in his day, and then shut the hell up or sing songs about our team.

There's people who are talking some amount of nonsense here. I've talked about a mate of mine who is a season ticket holder at Paradise along with his 13 year old daughter. He, his daughter and his wife were at the game at the weekend and he told me the following. There were a group of young bhoys, average age about 12 / 13. he estimated that the oldest were about 14. They were having a carry on and let off a few flares. The linesman was actually joking about it and said to the fans "FFS those things smell awful where did they get them". The rest of the fans were also just having a laugh about it.
The stewards however were forced to throw them out, had no option to do it. This consisted of 3 females, one of whom i know personally and have done for years, she is a Celtic supporter, the fourth was an elderly gentlemen. They went over to the bhoys and said that they would have to leave. The laddies did this without a great deal of fuss, saying things like "come on missus ah didnae huv a flare just let me stay". The stewards however insisted that under the circumstances they had to go. I should point out that the one I know is a lady who is around 5'2'' and weighs about 8 stone, at the most. At no time did any of the rest of the people there feel or act as if this was a threatening incident.
The bhoys then went up onto "misers hil" (a hill beside the ground where you can watch the game). A short while later the Police came along and moved them on.
As I said in this thread earlier I have a mate who is on the Rovers Trust and was obviously at the game. He agrees it was something and nothing, however because of the flares the bhoys were told to leave. They left, complaining in the way you would expect the wee laddies to, just being moany wee gits.
Is that the Green Brigade, I think not. Was it violent or threatening, nope daft laddies going over the top. Were the stewards out of order. Nope, not from what I have been told. Something and nothing from what I have been told, by people who I trust and who were there watching it. One a great Celtic supporter, and the other on the Rovers Supporters Trust. As stated I also know one of the stewards personally and have done for years, she is a tiny lady who would not do anything even remotely violent or aggressive.
