I really don't think MAF settled at Celtic and I can only remember 3 or 4 games when he played well. What do you think guys?
Striker Marc-Antoine Fortune is happy to be back at West Bromwich Albion, but insists that he does not regret trying his luck at Celtic.
The 29-year-old spent the second half of the 2008-09 season on loan at The Hawthorns, before opting to join the Bhoys just over a year ago.
However, Fortune returned south of the border before the transfer window slammed shut at the end of last month and is looking forward to a second chance to impress with the Baggies.
He told the Birmingham Mail: "Was I close to staying? We talked at the time but we couldn't find a solution and there were some Premier League clubs and also Celtic, who came in for me.
"I'm a footballer, I like a challenge and went to Celtic, but I never regretted it.
"Celtic were a big club and I played well up there, though I'm glad to come to West Brom.
"It's good to be back. I had a good time here, with some good memories."

I felt sorry for the big guy....he came with a ridiculous price tag ( blame TM)...and was talked up as a striker.....(Blame TM again).. he gave us a physical presence we didn't have.....but bottom line...he didn't do enough.....hope he don't come back to haunt us....don't think he will. Ave Ave

Wasn't as bad as a lot of people made out, and his card was marked by the meedja the moment he signed for us. Certainly not as much of a waste of money as that c*** Laffatme was for the dark side.
But, it didn't work out. Best of luck to him though, he tried (and he was robbed of a perfectly good goal against the orcs).

did ok in a bad year and showed promise early this season, in the end we recouped some money, might have been for the best but still think he couldve been a big player this year

I thought he was a bit unlucky, he scored a coupe of goals and was then out injured for a while. Things never really worked out for him when he came back from the injury.
Saying that he played well is a bit duluded though. There are reasons and excuses, but the bottom line is he did not play well. Average, maybe just, bot not "well".

Had he been played wide right (facing goal with a chance to use his speed and size) for his entire time here then I think he would have enjoyed more success. He certainly is never going to be confused with a target striker playing with his back to goal.

Was brought in to do what he did. Would probably have been better if Mowbray was allowed to put the finishing touches to the team... Not that I'm saying I'd like Tony Mowbray to be manager though... He was feckin sh*t

...he came with a ridiculous price tag ( blame TM)...and was talked up as a striker.....(Blame TM again).. Didn't TM say from the start that he wasn't an out and out striker? I would say it was the media who talked him up as a striker and then followed that up with criticism when it became apparent he wasn't.

He had skills but was playing out of position. Not a striker

Bar a couple of screamers he scored, he wasn't much cop. I remember being at hampden for the ross county fiasco and he was camped out on the wing, hiding from getting invovled.
No one covered themselves in glory that day but he never did enough in his time at Celtic, in my opinion.

I was at Fir Park that freezing day when he scored a screamer. Overall he just did not do enough for me. I don't blame him totally as he cannot dictate his price tag and was unlucky with injuries.

I liked the big man, but not to the extent that i was gutted to see him leave. As soon as he signed TM told us he wouldnt score 20+ goals a season so i accepted that. He did set up a fair few though (and i think, with guys like Stokes and Hooper in the team, that would be even more evident this season), he did also miss a fair few sitters . I would rather Sammy went that MAF to be fair.

Could be very good at times. Epitomized Mowbray's airey fairy football philosophy. Best for all concerned that he is gone. Always thank him for the goal against the huns and the one he was robbed of.

Like a lot of Mowbray's signings he was a total waste of money.

I actually prefer Sammy, i think Sammy has so much ability and if he could sort his decision making and learn to put the laces through his shots he would be a cracking player

By all accounts he seems to be doing pretty well down South.
I always liked him.

If we'd paid about a million quid for Marc and got the return that we did then I would agree. He did play well and put in a good shift.
Sadly when you pay nearly £4m for a striker who only has a return of 12 goals then it doesn't look as good.
Of course that isn't Marc's fault. Mowbray is too blame on that one.
