whats it like for you guys, celtic have fans from all over the place and us who stay quite close to celtic park take it for granted that it wont take us long to get to a game, honeybhoy and prairiebhoy, what time is the kick offs for the celtic games in the usa?,loads of our fans stay all over britain so roughly how long and how much would it cost you to come up to see a game?,our irish fans what time do you need to leave ireland just to watch the celtic play,
we complain about 12.30pm K.Os. but for you guys it must be hellish.

In Turkey we are only hours ahead. Problem here is when, a scottish match clashes with an english one, then the english one will be shown, but now we've got these weird kick-off times it's better. It's definirely better when we have a result like Utrecht!!!

i have been going to the north american celtic supporters convention in las vegas for the last 12 years, and have made many many friends from canada and the usa, a lot of them have never been to glasgow never mind seen celtic, i can assure you they are among the most commited celtic fans i have ever met, some would put celtic fans that live 10 minutes from celtic park to shame..

I flew out of Glasgow once back in 2000. I had to go into Easter Inch for business. Stayed in Edinburgh for a couple of days but had to fly out of Glasgow. Alas, this was before my devotion to Celtic. Edinburgh was a beautiful city though.
Anyway, back to CC's question. A 3PM Celtic match comes on here at 9AM so if it is a 12:30 match it is up early to get ready for the game at 6:30AM. I watch all matches on the internet and have had MTH open to comment and read comments at the same time. The Chicago Celtic Supporters Club is in Chicago at the Atlantic Grill. Too far to go for the most part that early in the morning to watch a match. Thank god for the internet. I also have the Channel 67 subscription that allows me the real time audio and the replays. I like the Celtic Huddle because it provides news beyond what I get from NewsNow.
I would have to say that my worst experience following Celtic on the internet came in the last match of 2005. This was before all of the video feeds that we take for granted. I has the BBC match tracker on and it was typically slow. The match was coming to an end and then it came across the screen - McDonald goal. I processed it in my mind how much time was left but I knew that I was at least a minute behind the action. Then it came across again - McDonald goal and I knew we were sunk. Ruined my day and week and only slightly got over it by the time the Scottish Cup final came, and then we knew that O'Neil was leaving, so a bad week.
Sure we have had some bad results (Artmedia, St Mirren, Utrecht) since then but I have been able to watch those with all of you even though I live in the Chicago suburbs. Pretty great that we can suffer or rejoice together even though we are six hours away (or more) in time zones.

Lived in many different parts of Europe as a kid due to my parents' work. Celtic have always been a link to home. Glad I'm back in Glasgow now, even if I can't afford to go to matches that often!

My time zone is 8 hours difference from the UK, if the Celtic game starts at 3pm I see it at 7 am my time, and if its a 12:30 pm kick off in Scotland I see it at 4:30 am my time, I just set the alarm.

In my younger days when I had no mortgage/bills/burd I was a season ticket holder for about 5 years. I travelled from Dublin at 3am the night before a game on a bus to Belfast, then travel from there on a boat to Stranraer. Back on the bus for that horrible trip to Glasgow and we got into the Gallowgate around 12pm which gave you time for one or two swallys and a bit to eat before the game. After the game it was straight back on the bus to do the whole trip again and we got into Dublin around about 2am if there were no delays due to weather or the manky fans being put on the speedy boat.
24hrs with no sleep and having about 3 hangovers in a day made most Sundays a write-off but I had the time of my life and wouldn't change it for the world.
Nowadays its a usually a flight in and out on the same day and 3 or 4 times a year we go make a weekend out if it which takes about a week to get over!! Ah I wish I was 21 again....

We got caught a few times too many and the bus company said we (the CSC) would have to pay the fines in future. We did have a good aul sing song/party on the boat and it was even better craic if the manky fans were on there too. The boat would be divided by a line a cops and it was pure mayhem all the way to Belfast but at least it made the journey go quicker

My best mate who came with me to the games at the time had enough of the traveling after a while so just decided to move to Glasgow. He was spending more time in Glasgow than he was in Dublin anyway and he couldn't handle the "Buckyrussians" (A black russian topped off with buckfast) on the boat. As I said, if I was able, I'd do it all again in heartbeat....Great memories!!
